New Contender

So, considering that Moto has proven to have really bad battery life, I've opted to search for a Sony Ericsson. The m600i looks great with a QWERTY keyboard and a slim profile. It however lacks a camera is reportedly still has some bugs. So the browsing continued and so far the k800i looks like the best bang for the buck. It looks like a typical SE but should be fine. Lets see...

Elephones

I'm getting a bit pissed at my phone right now (Moto A780). A lot of its capabilities being limited by the "memory full" bug. Not yet sure how to fix this with out a reset. And the battery life really sucks. The best battery life I got was out of my old SE T68i. So while I was out today I went browsing for phones. Some that caught my eye are:

Moto Q
Samsung SGH-i320

Yup, it looks like I'm back into the QWERTY keyboard mode. I need to check on the reviews of these...

Oh yeah, and the Openmoko Neo1973. An opensource phone that comes with its own dev kit. Something to wait for as well...

Rediscovery

A cousin of mine found a long lost pic of me as a kid while archiving old photos. I remember that toy, it was the, uhm, something Loader. Hmm, oh yeah, The Big Loader. Hahaha, it was a fun to fool around with.

Also, did you notice that my hair in that pic? It's similar to my hair now! hahahaha

Harold's Happy Time

I finally got to upload a clip of us playing at the PE Team Building. As usual poor recording, crappy mixing and lots of missed notes. But what the hell, we had a blast. We called ourselves Harold's Happy Time. We just couldn't think of anything else. Also, wouldn't it make a killer intro? "...Hi, we're Harold's Happy Time, sit back and take a trip with us to Harold's Happy Place...".

By the way, the guy in the white visor is Harold. I don't think I'm allowed to post videos of his "Happy Time" hahaha

3 to 30

It is exactly 3 months 'til I turn 30. Yup, the big Three Zero. What? 30? Damn, that was fast. A couple of years ago I was submitting my papers hoping to graduate on time. Sheesh. Oh well, no biggie. What is it about turning 30 anyway?

I googled "turning 30" and got some interesting thoughts:

- a point where you begin taking more control of your life and steering it to a direction you want
- you become dour, unenergetic, and utterly serious
- my mother might stop insisting that she pay for dinner
- single women will think "potential husband" rather than "potential babysitter"
- was I truly where I wanted to be and doing what I wanted to do?
- Be thankful that you're thirty, some people don't get the chance to even make it to 30, due to illnesses, or bad things that are beyond their control
- You're only 5 years away from your first prostrate exam. Let's get fired up!
- Start an emergency fund
- Think about how spotty you were in your teens, how drunk you got at your 21st and how broke you were in your 20s and thank your lucky stars that you won't ever have to go through that again
- Unless you make it into one, turning 30 is not a death sentence
- As one young man leaves his 20s behind, Idealism gives way to practicality. Almost.
- If at age 20 you are not a Communist then you have no heart. If at age 30 you are not a Capitalist then you have no brains. (George Bernard Shaw)
- I’ve learned that I don’t have to settle. I have every day of my life to do that… why do it today, or even tomorrow for that matter?
- I'm going to wear black socks with sandals ... and lots and lots of plaid
- Joseph who was thirty when he started ruling Egypt. He was a prisoner turned king.
- 30 is an age when reality strikes and firmly takes hold
- Is it any coincidence that the Roman numerals for 30 are XXX?
- Twenty-eight of my years have been spent anticipating new Star Wars movies
- The days of partying on rooftops with cases and cases of Bud and scantily clad women, finishing the late night downing pizza, pancakes or burgers (or all three) are numbered
- I’m a year closer to the inevitable talk behind my back by co-workers, friends and family, “Still single, eh? Maybe he’s gay.
- Let’s leave on a positive: I can date 40 year-old-women and their 20-year-old daughters!
- Lest you forget, everyone you know will remind you that you indeed are fucking old. They're not just giving you a hard time. This in fact is true. You are old.

Well, as for me, the next 3 months will be about getting in better shape, better results at work, shaking off the rust on my guitar playing, catching some waves, and not really worrying about The Day. What's there to worry about anyway?

By Belenos! By Toutatis!

I got to download a cartoon of Asterix today. It was never on my movies-to-search-for list. I just happened to remember it while browsing the web. Watching it took me back to my elementary days. Some people don't realize that you could learn a lot from each comic book. It presented different cultures, foreign phrases, places, and historical events. It aroused your interest in world history and cultures. And the play of words in the characters names was fun to look out for. Remember Boneywasawarriorwayayix and Winesanspirix?

The Swells A Coming....

Wow, I really need to post more regularly. I've got cobwebs on my blog. It's just that nothing really interesting has happened lately. Regular hustle and bustle at work, a little more rain than summer... Not dead, but not interesting.

Transfomers: Great effects, will surely appeal to my generation. :) Though, Optimus and the gang look a bit different (a bit over-tech'ed) but it was a good movie over all. Bumble bee a Camaro? Come on...
