Smiles

I was getting frustrated with the noise my FZ10 was registering in "low light" scenes. For the FZ10, this meant anything less than sunlight. At ISO200, the noise just jumped out at you and it was getting irritating. I could have each pic I take undergo noise reduction but that can get to be a bit of a hassle. So read reviews of entry level DSLR's and kept an eye for good deals around. Until I bumped into one last week. It was a really low price for a slightly used D40 body, and a relatively cheap mid range zoom lens was posted in another site too. The reviews I've been reading also suggested that the D40 was a better deal. So I got into a frenzy like I always do when I see a good deal for something I really need, or really want, and headed to Bacoor for the body and Makati for the lens. The body had less then 2000 shutter actuations (or thats what the EXIF info said at least) and the lens was in really good condition. So, I made the jump to the DSLR world. The initials pics were blurred and either over- or under- exp0sed and eventually got better as I got familiar with the controls. And, I am happy to say, no noise reduction could give me this clarity in pics. So I am all smiles :D

Power Xtreme!

I think we all have a list of cartoons that we associate good times with. Yup Saturday cartoons, the toons you looked forward to the whole week, the toons whose theme songs you knew by heart and sang too every time it showed, the toons that made you want to grow up to be a robot, :D you know what I mean.

Well, I found these on Youtube and it reminded me of the action figures I had of The Centurions. Yup, all three of them. Hehehe, enjoy...

News from the North

Looking forward to finally getting to surf again, I contacted some friends up north for info on what point was working. They said they played at Cabarsican last week and will probably be there again this weekend. Hmm, that's interesting, we we're also there around this time last year...

It can do that?

Here's a link my brother sent me. All these were taken with a k800i. Nice.

Looks like there's a weather disturbance on both sides of the country. I hope this solves the water level issue were having, and more importantly, its pulling the swell in! Checkout Saturdays forecast! I hope I get to travel north....

Elephone updates

So, I decided to get the k800i today. I know, I know, I thought it was going to be the p990i as well. But, I somehow clicked my way to this discussion.

Apparently, the p990i is a bug ridden device which SE has stopped working on (probably due to the P1). So why get stuck with a phone that promises so much but isn't able to deliver?

So, the k800i is the new addition to my list of phones...

E30 Updates

So the E30's been at the shop for a few months now, half of the time it was just sitting and waiting for the kit. And, I finally saw it and wasn't happy. So I'm having it redone. They started stripping it though, so the wait continues...

Here we go again...

Ok, so I'm in the phone browsing/research/review stage, and my "next phone" just keeps changing. Here's how the evolutions going so far:

Moto Q or Samsung i320 > SE m600i > SE k800i > SE w950i > SE k800i > SE P990i > Palm1 Treo 650 > SE P990i > SE K800 i > SE P990i > ???

So, far the k800i and P990i are on the top of my list. The P990i obviously having an edge. Lets see where this leads...
