As the typhoon passed I checked the wave height forecasts wondering how the typhoon was going to affect the swell around the Philippines. The typhoon showed up as a red spot with yellow spiral "arms" showing the way it was spinning. The swells around Northwestern Luzon were yellow as well, for at least three days! Surf trip!

I woke up Wednesday morning to a text message, it was from Aldrix. He
mentioned that The Backyard was working and Lanlan had the waves all to himself. I
looked out the window and it was stormy alright. Oh well, another wet trip to
work.

Thursday morning: Aldrix wasn't going to let the opportunity pass, he borrowed his boss' car and drove down to The Backyard for a great day of surfing. I hope the swell lasts till the weekend.

I went out Friday night to meet up with Carl and Dennis and to checkout Carl's almost finished project, his '67 Camaro. The camaro was already painted and running fine. It just needed a few more items like gauges, bumpers and papers. It was dark blue with white race stripes. The 327ci block was Chevy Orange and the interior was black leather, the upholstery shop had done a great job. I should contact him for the mustang.

By Saturday afternoon, Danette and the rest of the crew were at The Backyard enjoying the waves while I was still at work :( I contacted Jason that evening and setup to go down first thing the next morning. 6:30am, Sunday morning and the bus was leaving the station. It took us 2.5hours to get to Aldrix's and by the time we got there they had already started playing. Overall it was a great day, glassy 4 footers breaking lefts and rights.

By 6pm we were all surfed out and decided to call it a day.
After dinner, we were on our way back to Baguio, stoked undoubtedly. I hope we
get the same swell next weekend....

I haven't been posting in a while. I've either been too busy or the past weeks have been so bloody boring than nothing was worth posting.

Saturday night was spent with batchmates and friends who were trying to get me into a band again. We still have to see if we play well with each other, chemistry is a huge factor in a bands success. You can put four or five of the best guys in a band and still come out with crap. Okay okay, G3 is a different story....

After a night of heavy drinking, I headed to Bacnotan to surf on Sunday. Since I woke up late I was at Aldrix's place by noon, just in time for lunch - pinikpikan, yeah! They shared stories of their morning sessions mentioning that Aldix opened the day with a tube ride, cool.

We then headed to the pier and were met by glassy 4 ft sets. We all enjoyed the 4 foot right handers though it would occasionally jackup and close out. By 9pm we were back at Baguio and decided to close the day with a cup of coffee.

Monday, Mustang Monday. Monday was my Mom's birthday. I feel kinda guilty for not being in Baguio yesterday for a family lunch. I greeted Ma as soon as I woke up then had breakfast with her. She mentioned that Waf greeted her at 3am! After breakfast I was off to town for my To-Do's. Meeting up with Allan was the first thing on my list, we were going to check the beetle he's restoring (which I might buy but I haven't decided yet). With the gas prices on a continous rise, the beetle is the way to go. Besides, I've always wanted a beetle. It's got more character than any japanese car on the road. After lunch, I checked on the Mustang. They've just stared on the transmission fix, I'll check on it again next week.

By 4pm I was having coffee with Jux, discussing mustangs and beetles of course. When discussions like this start, we can go on forever and bore non enthusiasts to death.

Taekwondo practice started at 6pm, I decided to let the newer black belts handle the class so I could focus on basic exerises. My right foot still isn't 100% and more advanced footwork still is a problem. I can't wait til it is fully healed. I got a cake on my way home, had dinner then called it a day. It's another work day tomorrow.

Good weekend....

Today was a fairly productive day, we got up a bit early (for a Sunday) and brought Scottie to the vet. He was having problems with his left ear. The vet had to sedate Scot because he wasn't going to give his ear up for a cleaning voluntarily. After the cleaning and medication we headed home.

We decided to have lunch home this particular Sunday to be able to watch Pacquiao's fight. Lunch was going to be grilled pork, veggies, and a banana smoothie. It was fun grilling on a great day with family around.

Pacquiao and two other Filipino fighters won today. These three guys gave more to the Filipinos then any of the dozens of politicians will in a lifetime.
