Cabarsican QuikCurl Pro 2006

A long weekend was scheduled on Aug. 19-21 and I made sure it was a productive one. I arrived in Baguio early Saturday morning. So early even the dogs didn't get up to greet me. That's understandable, its been raining continously and tonight was unbelieveably cold. The dogs stayed stuck to their beds and just watched me as I headed up to my room.

Waking up to the rain and wind, I knew this was going to be a lazy Saturday. So I hung out with Ma and the dogs the whole morning, had lunch then headed to the paint shop around 3pm. The mustangs paint was done and they were just putting it back together. Last items I needed were some weather strips, silicon, and a few bulbs. Finally, after a few years, the mustang got the body work and repaint it deserved. Next on my list is the upholstery. I then headed to Carl's place for a few beers. We started early so that we could head home early since we were surfing the next day. And, we did head home early, around 3am. Hehehe...




I woke up to the buzzing of my phone, Jux was already leaving the office and I was going to hitch a ride with him to Naguillan. At Naguillan we met up with Aldrix and waited (and waited, and waited) for Danette, Nick and Carl. Before 10am we were headed to La Union. Along the way we checked out severeal spots: Carille - dead; San Juan Beachbreak - working, choppy, crowded; Monalisa Point - working; Bacnotan Pier - murky, choppy. We also passed by a potential new spot which I'll call Spot N for now, it showed promise. We need to check on it again in better weather conditions. So, we kept our fingers crossed and hoped Backyard was working. When we got there we got nothing. It was as flat as it could get.

Not willing to go home empty handed, we thought of other spots which were probably working. So, our backup plan was the German Sunset resort, or a worst case scanrio, was the San Juan beach break. We didn't mind the beach there, but there were three things we hated about that place, the crowd, the crowd, and the crowd. And, I don't mean the locals either, we'd be happy to surf with them anytime. So we grabbed our gear and drove off. Along the way we decided to check Cabarsican and this is what we saw....



So, this was our spot today.

By 7pm we found ourselves on the road back to Baguio dragging along Nick's long board. Here goes the plug...
